Human Resource management in global context
Human Resource management in global context
With the
globalization, every small or big organizational started becoming globalized
and started increasing their workforce in a cultural manner. That’s where Human
resource management has to improve and practice up to global standards and try
to be aligned with the international cultures. However comparing local and
global human resource management, global Human resource management has to
understand the awareness of the Ethnic culture differences, people, government
needs, attitudes of human etc..
A company willing
to globalize the organization and investing in abroad any form will be treated
as a foreign organization by the government and the locals.
In comparison to
local Human resource management, similarly, global Human resource management
will work but with the international context by understanding the work culture,
governments and local employees. it is politically very sensitive to work since
Any wrongly made decision can cause the issue, therefore Human resource
management has to be very well trained to face their cultural differences (Kramar &
Syed, 2012) .
It is easy to
handle employees domestically than international. Because placing branches
globally is not that easy to control multicultural employees. however, many
companies use their strategies by appointing the head of branch someone from
local to have more control over employees and Human resource management will
control them from headquarters.
Recruiting
procedures will be the same but higher managerial positions will be filled by
their locals spread business in the market with locally experienced
personnel. Even it is very important to
have locals for Human resource management to understand the legal issues and to
avoid language barriers. Global human resource management will be a bit more
expensive than the usual. it is a very critical and challenging part for global
HRM to cope up with (Kramar & Syed, 2012) .
In other hands
Human resource management will go through day to day challenging face of
planning workforce, training/developing them, rewarding/ benefits, creating
cultural teamwork place, design of work and mainly legal issue compliance with
law and regulations related labour laws. Also, with VISA issuing/cancelling,
trade licensing.
