Women Employee Empowerment in Public Sector in UAE
Women Employee Empowerment in Public Sector in UAE
Employee
empowerment is one of the key function to make employees to share their knowledge, advantages of decisions making and innovations/ideas to an organisation by providing employees
the freedom what they require and It is a long run plan for an organization for
durability.
Even though it is
important to give employees empowerment there are pros and cons in employee
empowerment. such as it is beneficiary for employee satisfaction and motivation,
it increases the creativity and self-efficiency etc. In other hand, there
are disadvantages by increasing the risk as employee become more ambiguous. Also,
security wise it is a risk when this important information has to share with
every employee to make them think out of the box and to be creative. But most
of the organizations are willingly taking the risk or challenges by keeping the
employees controlled with the code of conducts or labour contracts signed.
Most of the private
organizations are currently in the trend of giving their employees freedom for
decision making even in the lower level of employees.
Whereas public
sectors in UAE were, way behind with their traditional approaches and methods
of work design for their employees with the rooting setups. There was No
innovation, no creativity, no strategies, no challenges involved in their day
to day jobs. it is one of the main reasons behind these gender differences.
Traditional approaches were mainly focused on the male employees’ empowerment
and Presently most of the regions, private and public sectors are providing the
freedom for their employees to work under knowledge sharing/strategic,
discussion making environment without having any gender differences. as a
result of that, it is very common to see women are increasingly performing,
creative, innovative and holds a intensify managerial qualities in co-operating
level (Daley & Naff, 1998) .
Focusing on that,
UAE government established “Gender Balance council” (Mariam & Serkal, 2015) .as a result of that
there are nine women ministers in the power and innovations, decision
makings are known in internationally and domestically in the market.
